OCA and QOC President Sheikh Joaan participates in biggest Fun Run for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

Doha, Qatar, February 10, 2026: OCA President and Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani officiated at the start of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Fun Run in Doha on Tuesday, February 10.

 

Sheikh Joaan signalled the start of the Fun Run attended by more than 1,400 schoolchildren aged between seven and ten.

 

It was the largest Fun Run in the OCA ‘Asian Games for All’ promotional campaign – the 13th overseas stopover - for the 20th Asian Games to be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

 

Sheikh Joaan also took part in the medal presentation ceremonies for the participants who completed a 1-kilometre course at Lusail Boulevard in the Qatari capital.

 

Also in attendance was Acting Director of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee, Yasuhiro Nakamori, and other dignitaries from the Qatar Olympic Community and National Sports Federations.

 

The Asian Games Fun Run was part of Qatar National Sports Day where more than 10,000 runners took part in the Qatar Half Marathon as well as other community races.
