Milan, Italy, February 6, 2026: The President of the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee, Ryu Seung Min, believes Korea House will play a big role in promoting sport, tourism and culture during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
Korea House officially opened on Thursday, February 5 and will welcome visitors from all over the world during the February 6-22 Winter Games.
“It will present the greatness of sport and culture of Korea during the Olympic period,” the KSOC President posted.
The opening was attended by several VIP guests, including Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary General of the United Nations, and International Skating Union President Kim Jae-yeol, who was elected to the IOC Executive Board at the 145th IOC Session on February 4, as well as IOC members and Olympic leaders from around the world.
Korea House is set up inside Villa Necchi Campiglio, a historic house museum in Milan owned by the non-profit Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), or the National Trust of Italy. The KSOC and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will oversee the operation of the Korea House.
“It was a very rewarding day,” Ryu said.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Team Korea support team, including the staff of the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee and athletes who made all of these things run smoothly.”
