Hong Kong, China, January 22, 2026: Hong Kong China athletes who won medals at the 15th National Games in November, 2025, were awarded a share of HK$11,475,000 (roughly US$1.4 million) in prize money from The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Hong Kong SAR (Special Administrative Region) Chief Secretary Eric Chan presided at a ceremony at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, January 18, where the cash incentives were awarded.
“Hong Kong fielded its largest-ever delegation at this edition of the National Games, demonstrating the athletes’ outstanding competitive calibre and unwavering determination. They delivered Hong Kong’s best-ever result at these Games,” Chief Secretary Chan noted.
Hong Kong won a landmark nine gold medals, two silver and eight bronze medals at the National Games, which were co-hosted for the first time by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
Among the athletes present at the ceremony were triple gold medallist cyclist Ceci Lee, swimmer Siobhan Haughey who won two gold medals and two bronze, gold-medallist fencers Edgar Cheung and Ryan Choi, and gold-medallist cyclist Leung Wing Yee.
Also present at the ceremony were HKSAR government officials, and representatives from the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong China, and national sports associations.
