Chair of OCA Media Committee assures world media and broadcasters of top-quality service at Sanya ABG

Sanya, China, January 19, 2026: Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Chair of the Olympic Council of Asia Media Committee, has assured delegates attending the World Press Briefing and World Broadcasters Meeting for the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 of world-class facilities and top-order press and media broadcast service during the showpiece.

 

Al-Kooheji was unable to attend the meeting personally, and his address at the opening ceremony on Monday, January 19, was delivered by Jeans Zhou Jian, Director OCA Media and Broadcast.

 

“I’m very glad that all of you have taken the effort to be present at this important meeting where you will get acquainted with the top-class facilities during venue visits. As you know, China is accomplished and experts at hosting major multi-sports events, from the Olympics to Asian Games – both summer and winter. 

 

“In the case of the Asian Beach Games, it will be the second time this event is being held in China, following Haiyang 2012, and you can be assured of world-class facilities and top-order service awaiting you,” Al-Kooheji stated.

 

A total of 139 delegates attended the meeting at the Sanya Jinghai International Holiday Hotel which will also serve as the Main Media Centre during the April 22 – 30 Games.

 

Of this number, 81 were from Press: 71 onsite (18 international and 53 Mainland China) and 10 online (international); and 58 Broadcasters: 57 onsite (two from Chinese Taipei and 55 Mainland China) one online (Indonesia).

 

Also attending were representatives from 13 National Olympic Committees – Hong Kong China, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Philippines.

 

Al-Kooheji said: “You will get the opportunity to become familiar with the diverse services on offer which will go a long way towards making your life easy as you broadcast these Games to Asia and the rest of the world.

 

Live broadcasting is still a powerful medium due to its broad reach, and coupled with sporting drama, it combines to deliver emotional and gripping visual content to millions of viewers,” he noted.

 

Al-Kooheji added that the OCA and the Organising Committee of the Sanya 2026 Asian Beach Games were confident that host broadcasters, TV rights holders, media organisations would do a fantastic job of showcasing the Asian Beach Games in all its glory to the rest of the world.

 

“To help facilitate this onerous task, the OCA and SABGOC has taken all steps to ensure that your work will progress smoothly.

 

“The OCA thanks you for your support towards broadcasting and media reporting what will undoubtedly be a most memorable event,” Al-Kooheji added.
