Male, Maldives, January 14, 2026: The Maldives Olympic Committee has welcomed the Athletes’ Commission Members who were elected for the 2025-2029 term.
As only one eligible candidate was received for each of the five available posts, no election was required, and the candidates have been picked unopposed in line with approved election regulations.
The five new members are: Olympians Hassan Saaid (athletics) and Aishath Sajina (swimming), Nashfa Amira (handball), Fathimath Jumana Nimal (table tennis), and Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki (badminton).
The Athletes’ Commission serves as a vital platform to ensure that the voices, perspectives, and welfare of athletes are represented within the Maldives Olympic Committee.
The MOC congratulated the newly appointed members and extended its best wishes as they began their four-year term. Their leadership and commitment will be instrumental in steering the course for the next generation of athletes and championing athlete representation within Maldivian sport.
