Kuwait City, Kuwait, January 8, 2026: The OCA Athletes Committee, chaired by Ms. Ning Ding, held an online meeting on Thursday, January 8.
The Chair of the OCA Athletes Committee opened the meeting by thanking all members for their hard work and commitment in 2025. She acknowledged the time and effort contributed by the Committee over the last year, and shared her hope that the same level of energy and cooperation would continue into 2026.
Jamyang Namgyal, Manager of the Athletes Committee, shared an update on the Athlete Centred Project Fund, noting that 11 projects had been awarded to Athletes Committees across National Olympic Committees in Asia.
The 11 Athletes Committees are from: Cambodia, Iraq, Japan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, Mongolia, Pakistan, Qatar, Singapore and Tajikistan.
These projects were intended to support athlete-led initiatives, and members were encouraged to continue helping by sharing information and available resources related to the fund with their respective zone Athletes Committees.
Plans for 2026 were also discussed, keeping in mind that the OCA will be staging three major Games during the year. Members exchanged initial thoughts on priorities and the need for close coordination to ensure athletes are well supported across all events.
The meeting concluded with a shared understanding of the work ahead and a collective commitment to continued collaboration over the year.
