Mongolia and Korea sign bilateral agreement to develop boxing

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, April 26, 2020: Mongolia and South Korea have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement to boost the development of boxing in both countries.

The President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation, Dashdemberal Bat-Erdene met, with the Chairman of Korea Boxing, Kim Ji-hyun, on April 9 in Seoul, and both sides established a bilateral cooperation agreement.

The agreement is valid for two years and will cover wide-ranging aspects of boxing development.

Also present at the signing ceremony was the First Vice President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation, Enkhbat Badar-Uugan, who holds the honour of winning the country’s first Olympic gold medal in any sport at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Mongolia has one male boxer qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics – men’s lightweight fighter Chinzorig Baatarsukhiin.
