Thimphu, Bhutan, January 6, 2026: The Bhutan Olympic Committee is currently holding its 3rd Foundational Sport Science Course at the National Coaching Academy in Thimphu.
The three-day course from January 5-7 is supported by Olympic Solidarity and has brought together 20 participants from various federations and agencies to deepen their knowledge in modern sports science.
This programme is part of a strategic vision led by HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, to strengthen and modernise the coaching system in Bhutan.
As sport continues to evolve, training and development increasingly rely on evidence-based approaches including athlete monitoring, recovery, nutrition, injury prevention, and long-term athlete development.
The broader goal is to build a stronger, more capable sports workforce that can help nurture athletes ready to compete proudly at regional and international levels.
