Tehran, Iran, April 25, 2020: Iran’s Sports Minister Masoud Soltanifar has announced that the country will decide in early May if sports events will resume or if it will remain canceled.
All sports events in Iran are currently cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Competition and sports activities in gyms are banned until May 4.
However, on Wednesday, April 22, Soltanifar, Iran’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, revealed that, depending on the conditions on May 4, a decision will be made whether sporting activities can gradually start again.
“Activities may be kept banned or they may gradually open. Everything depends on the conditions of the disease on May 4,” Soltanifar said.
