Hosts Thailand top SEA Games standings with 233 gold medals

Bangkok, Thailand, December 22, 2025: Host nation Thailand topped the medal standings at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in grand style winning a record 233 gold medals.

 

The 2025 SEA Games hosted by Thailand from December 9-20 showcased the country’s sporting prowess as it surpassed the previous record of 205 golds set by Vietnam in 2022.

 

In total, Thailand won a whopping 499 medals – 233 gold, 154 silver and 112 bronze. Indonesia was in second place with 91 golds, while Vietnam ranked third with 87 golds. Malaysia secured fourth place with 57 golds, and Singapore completed the top five by winning 52 golds.

 

The 33rd SEA Games came to an end on Saturday, December 20, with a spectacular closing ceremony at Rajamangala Stadium where the hosting flag was passed by Thailand to Malaysia for the 34th SEA Games in 2027.
