Bangkok, Thailand, December 16, 2025: Puripol Boonson rounded off a fairytale home Southeast Asian Games by leading Thailand to the men’s 4x100m relay gold medal.
The teenage Thai sprinter stormed round the Suphachalasai National Stadium track as the men’s team triumphed with a new SEA Games record of 38.28 seconds on Monday, December 15.
Boonson, 19, was victorious alongside Thai teammates Thawatchai Himaiad, Chayut Khongprasit and Soraoat Dapbang in the Thai capital. Malaysia claimed the silver medal in 39.03, followed by Indonesia in 39.51 for bronze.
Boonson had earlier claimed the sprint double, winning both the 100m and 200m golds.
“I feel so proud of myself and I’m really happy with my new record – I’m back,” said Boonson after completing the triple crown, a feat he first achieved at the 2021 Games in Vietnam.
The Thai women’s quartet also won gold in the 4x100m relay, pipping Vietnam (silver) and the Philippines (bronze).
