Mongolia to benefit from new cricket ground

Bayankhongor, Mongolia, April 23, 2020: A cricket field is being built in Bayankhongor aimag (first level administrative subdivision) in Mongolia. The field will be used for cricket in the summer and as an ice rink in the winter, reports the Mongolian News Agency Montsame.

Having a designated cricket field will allow children and youth to play and train at cricket, improve their batting, bowling and fielding skills, build teamwork, contribute to a healthy lifestyle and put their leisure time to good use, noted an official of the cricket federation of Bayankhongor aimag.

Currently, athletes of the cricket federation are preparing for the Mongolian national cricket championship to be held in June and the International Youth Green Games in September.

In addition, the Cricket Federation of Bayankhongor aimag has agreed to cooperate with the Illawarra Cricket Association (ICA) of New South Wales, Australia.

Within the cooperation agreement, the ICA will provide assistance and support in the form of coaches and cricket equipment to Bayankhongor aimag and will host teams and athletes of the aimag in training in Australia.
