Tashkent, Uzbekistan, December 3, 2025: Senior officials from the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Sports welcomed the President of the International Weightlifting Federation Mohammed Jalood in Tashkent on Monday, December 1.
First Vice President of the Uzbekistan NOC and OCA Vice President Otabek Umarov, and NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov were on hand to greet the IWF President who was on a visit to Tashkent.
The IWF President was briefed on the latest reforms being carried out in the sports sector in Uzbekistan, and discussions also centred on further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IWF, and hosting prestigious international competitions in the future.
Mohammed Jalood was then taken on a tour of Olympic Village and briefed on how this facility will take the development of Uzbek sport to the next level.
The IWF President also expressed his approval for the ‘Presidential Olympics’ competitions currently being held in the country.
