Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 2, 2025: The Secretary General of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, has acknowledged the support received from the President of the UAE NOC Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for sports in the Emirates.
This has resulted in the exceptional performances of Emirati athletes over the last few weeks at two major multi-sport events.
“I congratulate His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, on the exceptional performances achieved by Emirates sport in less than 30 days, either at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain or at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh,” Secretary General Al Mutawa noted.
At the Bahrain AYG, the UAE won 31 medals, including 12 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze to finish in the top-10 for the first time in the history of these Games. In Riyadh, the UAE won a total of 27 medals – 6-7-14.
“These achievements embody the continuous development of our national sports, the fruits of hard work and preparation programmes carried out by sporting associations,” Al Mutawa said.
“What has been achieved in such a short period of time confirms that we are on the right path thanks to His Highness and his constant support for the Olympic Movement. We are confident that our athletes will continue to raise the Emirates flag high and record more successes in the future,” he added.
