1st Chefs de Mission Seminar of the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 gets underway

Sanya, China, December 1, 2025: Olympic Council of Asia Deputy Director General, Vinod Kumar Tiwari, urged delegates attending the 1st Chefs de Mission Seminar of the 6thAsian Beach Games Sanya 2026 to engage fully with the organising committee to ensure that athletes will enjoy a smooth showpiece next year.

 

“We are gathered here in the spirit of partnership and preparation. This seminar is where the collaboration begins, where questions are answered, and where the foundation for a seamless athlete experience is laid,” the OCA Deputy Director General said in his opening address on Monday, December 1.

 

A total of 36 of the 45 Asian National Olympic Committees have sent representatives, numbering 56, for the December 1-2 seminar, with the balance nine NOCs joining on-line. 

 

The 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, will be held from April 22-30, 2026, and will feature 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 63 events. A record 3,798 athletes have registered for the Games.

 

The two-day seminar at the Sanya Conifer Resort will offer delegates a comprehensive overview on topics from accreditation and accommodation to transportation, venue logistics and the competition schedule.

 

“The information you will receive will be invaluable. I urge you to be thorough, to ask the difficult questions, and to engage fully with our dedicated Sanya 2026 organising committee. Your proactive participation is key to ensuring that every athlete from across Asia arrives here ready to perform at their peak, in a safe, fair, and well-organised environment,” Vinod Tiwari said.

 

“Our mission, together, is to stage Games that are not only successful in their organisation but also unforgettable in their spirit. I have every confidence that the team here in Sanya, in close cooperation with the OCA, has prepared meticulously. They are ready to present their plans and work with you to refine the final details,” he added.

 

Welcoming all delegates, the Mayor of Sanya, Chen Xi, who is also the Secretary General of the Sanya Asian Beach Games Organising Committee (SABGOC), expressed sincere gratitude for the support for Sanya.

 

“We are committed to ensuring that by next April, we will welcome friends from all over with a renewed and beautiful cityscape, first-class venue facilities, professional event organisation, and thoughtful, enthusiastic service support,” Mayor Chen stated.

 

“With the guidance and assistance of the OCA, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and other relevant departments, and with the strong support of the NOCs, we are confident that we will host a spectacular sporting event that showcases the charm of Asia, the characteristics of China, the appeal of Hainan, and the unique flavour of Sanya,” Chen added.
