Hong Kong NOC says six athletes awarded Olympic scholarships for LA28

Hong Kong, China, November 26, 2025: The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China has announced that six athletes have been awarded Olympic Scholarships for LA28.

 

The scholarships, provided through the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity initiative, are designed to support athletes in their preparations and qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

 

The six athletes are: Lui Lai Yiu (athletics), Kaylin Hsieh (fencing), Chiu Hin Chun (rowing), Nicholas Halliday (sailing), Wong Chun Ting (table tennis), and Bailee Brown (triathlon).

 

Each athlete will receive a monthly scholarship of US$1,500 from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2028. The scholarship is intended to cover expenses such as specialised coaching, participation in overseas competitions and training, thereby supporting the athletes in enhancing their performance and striving for qualification for LA28.

 

The SF&OC extended its sincere congratulations to the six athletes and hopes the scholarships will provide substantial support on their journey to the Olympics, and wished them every success in qualifying.
