New Delhi, India, November 23, 2025: The Indian Olympic Association has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Indian contingent for their exceptional performance at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain where the nation’s young athletes won 48 medals and finished sixth overall in the standings.
IOA President PT Usha stated: “The Indian Olympic Association takes immense pride in the exemplary performance of our young athletes. Their achievements reflect the future of Indian sport and the potential that lies within our youth. The IOA remains fully committed to providing every possible support to nurture and develop this emerging talent.”
India fielded a 222-strong athlete contingent – 103 boys and 119 girls – across 22 sports at the 3rd AYG. They won 13 gold, 18 silver, and 17 bronze medals, marking a significant improvement over previous editions.
In acknowledgement of these commendable accomplishments, the IOA has decided to confer cash awards.
Gold medallists will each receive Indian Rs. 500,000 (US$5,580), silver medallists Rs. 300,000 each (US$3,348), bronze medallists will each get Rs. 200,000 (US$2,232), and fourth place finishers each get Rs. 50,000 (US$558). The coaches of medal-winning athletes will each get Rs. 100,000 (US$1,116).
The kabaddi boys’ and girls’ team – they both won gold medals – will each get Rs. 1,000,000 (US$11,158).
The IOA reaffirmed its continued commitment to promoting excellence in sport at all levels ensuring that young athletes receive the recognition and encouragement they deserve. The IOA also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of coaches, national sports federations, and support teams who played a pivotal role in this success.
