Kuwait City, Kuwait, November 15, 2025: OCA Director General Capt. Husain Al Musallam visited the Tencent Global Headquarters at Binhai Building in Shenzhen, China on Monday, November 10.
The visit comes in the wake of a strategic cooperation agreement signed by both parties during the OCA Executive Committee meeting in Bahrain on October 22 further consolidating consensus to jointly develop the Asian Esports industry and promote deeper collaboration.
The OCA and Tencent first established a strategic partnership in 2022, and during last month’s 101st OCA Executive Board meeting signed a new cycle in this agreement. This agreement will deepen collaboration in such areas as Esports events during the Asian Games, industry standards, and cultural exchanges.
OCA Director General Capt. Husain noted during the visit to Shenzhen: “I have witnessed a great technology company and I’m amazed at what Tencent offers the world. I am also pleased and satisfied with our cooperation over the past few years, and I look forward to deepening our ties with Tencent in the future, and jointly promoting the development of the Esports industry.”
Capt. Husain also revealed that the qualification process for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Esports, “Following the 101st OCA EB decision, the qualification for 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Esports will be at the sole discretion of the OCA, and that no third-party company nor the Asian Electronic Sports Federation will be involved. The OCA will work together with each title publisher to confirm the format of qualification.”
As the Asian Esports industry moves towards standardised and integrated development, Tencent Esports leveraging its technology, content, and platform advantages, is poised to play an increasingly pivotal role, injecting new momentum into building a dynamic and inclusive digital sports community in Asia.
