Indian NOC to reward Asian Youth Games medallists with cash incentives

New Delhi, India, November 11, 2025: The Indian Olympic Association has announced that it will give cash rewards to Indian medallists at the recently-concluded 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.

 

IOA President P.T. Usha said the association took immense pride in the exemplary performance of the country’s young athletes at the Bahrain AYG, where they won 48 medals, including 13 golds, across different disciplines.

 

The IOA President stated that gold medallists would be given a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakhs each (approximately US$5,600), silver medallists given Rs. 3 lakhs each (US$3,380), bronze medallists given Rs. 2 lakhs each (US$2.250), and even fourth-place finishers receiving Rs. 50,000 each (US$565).

 

The coaches of medal-winning athletes will receive Rs. 1 lakh each (US$1,127) while the kabaddi boys’ and girls’ teams will each get Rs. 10 lakhs (US$11,270).

 

India had their best-ever performance at an Asian Youth Games finishing in sixth place on the overall medal standings.

 

IOA President Usha was on hand to witness some of the medal-winning performances during the October 22-31 games.
