Tashkent, Uzbekistan, November 9, 2025: An extraordinary board meeting of the Ministry of Sports in Uzbekistan was held last week to look at ways to develop mass sports in the country.
The board meeting was chaired by the Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov and was attended by leaders and officials of all sports organisations in Uzbekistan as well as NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov.
The agenda looked in detail into a report on the work being carried out to further develop mass sports, prepare for the final stage of the Olympic Peaks of New Uzbekistan programme, as well as to improve the activities of sports educational institutions in the country.
A comprehensive review of the performances of athletes at recent multi-sports events - the CIS Games in Azerbaijan, the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, and the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – was also the subject of discussion.
In conclusion, Minister Ikramov called for increasing work efficiency in all areas, the rational use of sports infrastructure in the regions, and the widespread promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people.
