Amman, Jordan, April 22, 2020: The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has held a key e-meeting with fellow sports leaders to address the impact that Covid-19 has had on the sports industry.
The JOC has created a task force, led by JOC Secretary General Nasser Majali, to manage the current situation. The meeting, with members of national sport federations, discussed the current situation faced by sports clubs and sports centres due to the lockdown, as well as the negative impact it is having on sport as a whole.
The meeting also highlighted recommendations that will be sent to the Government in a bid to seek compensation for the damage inflicted on those clubs and centres that have been unable to operate.
Majali said the task force would be doing all it could to support the sports sector and would work with all national sport federations to find possible solutions and ensure that the sports sector would be supported for the good of all Jordanian society.
