The bid to host the Games – the 6th edition is ongoing in Riyadh – was submitted by the Olympic Council of Malaysia and the Stage Government of Selangor, with the full support of the Federal Government of Malaysia.

It reflects the strong and united commitment of Malaysia towards the values and objectives upheld by ISSA under the distinguished leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal.

Three NOCs had officially submitted bids to host the 7th Islamic Solidarity Games 2029 – Iran, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.

Dr. Norza Zakaria, President of NOC Malaysia and Vice President of OCA for Southeast Asia, together with Hon. Mohd. Najwan Halimi, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship of the State Government of Selangor, jointly presented the final proposal at the 14th ISSA General Assembly on Saturday, November 8, at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel.

Dr. Zakaria said: “The bid by the NOC Malaysia is fully supported and endorsed by both the Federal Government of Malaysia and the State Government of Selangor, reflecting a strong spirit of unity and shared vision in promoting sports development within the Islamic world.

“Selangor, located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is the country’s most developed and populous state, serving as the economic, industrial, and technological powerhouse of the nation. It is home to modern infrastructure, world-class sporting facilities and a vibrant multicultural society that embodies Malaysia’s diversity and dynamism,” he added.
