Manama, Bahrain, October 25, 2025: The unprecedented media coverage for the biggest sporting event ever held in Bahrain will massively boost the image of the Kingdom according to Hasan Ali, the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Head of Media.

From live broadcasting on local television companies to blanket coverage in the Kingdom’s four main Arabic newspapers as well as English-language newspapers, the Games is getting record exposure.

And to top it all off, social media platforms are going tik-tok crazy with the cherry on the top being the presence of five top influencers in the mix.

“This is the biggest operation as far as media is concerned over a sporting event in Bahrain, the largest the Kingdom has ever witnessed, whether in terms of television broadcasting, press coverage, or social media presence,” Ali pointed out.

Television coverage for a sporting event is at an all-time high in the Kingdom, and taking live action into the sitting rooms across Asia.

Bahrain TV serves as the Host Broadcaster and several other channels have acquired the rights as Rights Holding Broadcasters, including Bahrain Sports Channel, Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, Kuwait Sports Channel, IRIB from Iran, MNC Group from Indonesia, ASTRO from Malaysia, and Plan B Eleven from Thailand. There are also a couple of Non-Rights holders.

“Bahrain Channel News has made tremendous efforts in covering all the competitions of the Games, whether through live broadcasts of the matches, accompanying programmes, or its network of reporters and commentators. This coverage is perhaps the most extensive in the channel’s history for any sporting event,” noted Ali.

In the print media, four Arabic newspapers – Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Ayam, Al Watan, and Al Bilad – as well as English-language newspapers Gulf Daily News and The Daily Tribune, are actively covering the games. In addition Bahrain Radio is also contributing hugely to the wide coverage.

Social media is gaga as well according to BOC Media Head Ali. “The Games is enjoying unprecedented coverage across social media platforms, led by Instagram, which ranks as the number one platform in terms of sports audience engagement in Bahrain.

“We are also witnessing strong interaction and notable presence on TikTok, which aligns well with the youth demographic of the event, in addition to YouTube, Facebook, and Platform X,” Ali said.

Organisers have also welcomed five reputed influencers, two from India, a Korean, Japanese and Nigerian to weigh in and promote Bahrain and the Games.

“The Games will showcase Bahrain’s capability to successfully host major Asian and global sporting events, highlighting its rich history, tourism assets, world-class services, and organisational excellence.

“Bahrain will witness the rise of new young champions and the media will undoubtedly highlight that the journey of future Olympic stars began here in Bahrain, the proud host of the Asian Youth Games,” Ali added.
