Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, October 16, 2025: The future of Kyrgyzstan’s sports will be on display at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain according to a senior government official.

Speaking at a farewell ceremony held at the Sports Palace in Bishkek to honour Kyrgyzstan’s national youth team on Wednesday, October 15, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov expressed confidence for the sporting future of the country.

“As I hand you the flag today, I feel immense pride and confidence in the future of our sports. Many victories lie ahead, and it is you who will carry our nation’s hopes to the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane,” Baisalov was quoted as saying by The Caspian Post.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers handed over the national flag to team captain Ulan Mairambekov and female athlete Dominika Chernetskaya.

Kyrgyzstan will be represented by 145 athletes in 17 sports in Bahrain.

Reflecting on Kyrgyzstan’s growing presence in regional sports, Baisalov added: “At the 2013 Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, Kyrgyzstan was represented by just 14 athletes. Today, that number has grown to 145 – a clear demonstration of the rising strength and potential of our diverse nation.”
