UAE aiming for landmark Games by winning first AYG medal in Bahrain

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 14, 2025: The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee believes a landmark moment awaits its athletes at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain – winning the UAE its first medal ever at these games.

 

“Team UAE’s participation in the 3rd Asian Youth Games Bahrain, 2025 carries historic significance. Winning the nation’s first-ever medal in the history of the Games would mark a major milestone,” the UAE NOC posted on its Facebook page.

 

“This moment serves as a powerful motivation for all our athletes to pursue this unique achievement and proudly raise the UAE flag in this continental event.”

 

The UAE did not win any medals at the inaugural AYG in 2009 Singapore as well as the subsequent edition in 2013 Nanjing, China.

 

Team UAE will be represented by 152 athletes – 107 boys and 45 girls – in 19 sports during the October 22-31 showpiece in Manama.

 

The 19 sports are: athletics, basketball (3x3), badminton, boxing, cycling (road), camel racing, equestrian (show jumping and endurance), esports, golf, handball, judo, jiu-jitsu, MMA, muay thai, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, weightlifting.
