Nagoya, Japan, October 10, 2025: A top official of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Organising Committee has welcomed the feedback from international and local broadcasters and media over the last four days and believes it will go a long way to making the showpiece a resounding success next year.

“These meetings have been fruitful but there remains a lot of work to do over the next 11 months as we have a duty to the success of these Games,” noted Yasuhiro Nakamori, AINAGOC Acting Director General, on Friday, October 10.

Nakamori was speaking at the end of the 1st World Press Briefing, on October 9-10, which had been preceded by the 1st World Broadcasters Meeting – October 7-8 – as organisers fine-tuned preparations for the 20thAsian Games from September 19-October 4, 2026.

“We have got a lot of opinions over the last few days and these will be very useful as we look at enhancing our planning for the Games. I’m looking forward to April next year, when we will have our second round of meetings with broadcasters and media,” Nakamori said.

With the success of any international multi-sports events hinging on the publicity it generates on television, radio, newspapers, news agencies, and nowadays on the internet, close cooperation and interaction between games’ organisers and the world’s media is a key facet.

Over 160 media participants – 100 press and wire services and 60 broadcasters - attended the first set of meetings organised by the OCA and AINAGOC. Nakamori hopes more will turn up for the second round in April.

“While I’m happy with the response, I would have loved to have seen my broadcasters turn up. Also at the World Press Briefing, most of the participants were Japanese journalists. I hope more international press will come next April,” Nakamori said.

“We would like the views of all stakeholders in an effort to make the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games a huge success,” he added.
