Nagoya, Japan, October 8, 2025: Linda Wahyudi, executive producer for MNCTV, one of the biggest private television operators in Indonesia, believes that broadcasting of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games is in safe hands with China Media Group being appointed as Rights Holding Broadcaster.

Wahyudi is one of 60 broadcasters attending the 1st World Broadcasters Meeting for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games which ended on Wednesday, October 8 with site visits to a number of competition venues for the September 19-October 4 showpiece next year.

“It was up in the air and we were all wondering who would be the Rights Holding Broadcaster. When we heard that CMG (China Media Group) had been appointed, we all breathed a sigh of relief because we know they will do a great job,” Linda asserted.

“I have huge confidence in CMG for we have worked with them in the past – at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023, and also at the Harbin Asian Winter Games earlier this year. We know what the results will be for CMG has a good track record,” Linda declared.

Linda was part of a large group of Indonesian broadcasters from iM Sport - a separate sports-focused pay-TV channel that, along with MNCTV, belongs to the larger MNC Media conglomerate in Indonesia – who attended the Nagoya meetings.

“We are the biggest in Indonesia. We have 70 million viewers and there will be a lot of interest in the Asian Games, especially after these games were held in Jakarta in 2018,” Linda revealed.

“While football and badminton are the two biggest sports in Indonesia, there is growing interest in other sports. Earlier this year, we televised the Asian Winter Games from Harbin, China, and there were a lot of viewers.

“These two days in Nagoya were fruitful and we are thankful to the Olympic Council of Asia and the Aichi-Nagoya Games organisers for hosting us. We have got key information which will be useful to us come Games time next year,” she added.
