Nagoya, Japan, October 7, 2025: OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam underlined the important role broadcasting media played in taking live sporting action to audiences around the world in a relayed message to participants at the 1st World Broadcasters Meeting for the 20th Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday, October 7.
“The live coverage of sports on television, radio, and other broadcasting media is a vital aspect of any major sporting event, especially if it is a multi-sports event like the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games where you will have 41 sports and 15,000 athletes and team officials participating,” Al Musallam said in his message to delegates at Port Messe, Nagoya, Exhibition Hall, on Tuesday, October 7.
Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Director Media and Broadcast, who was speaking on behalf of the OCA Director General, told an audience of 60 participants from 20 different broadcasting companies: “Broadcasting takes sports to another level, and I have no doubt that you will turn the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games into a huge success story with massive audiences tuning in.
“To help make your job easier, the OCA and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee have taken all steps to ensure that your work will progress smoothly during the Games.”
The 1st World Broadcasters Meeting on October 7-8 will be followed by the 1stWorld Press Briefing, October 9-10, as the OCA and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC), ratchet up preparations for next year’s flagship event from September 19-October 4.
Delegates representing companies from more than 10 countries and regions listened as AINAGOC Acting Director General Yasuhiro Nakamori and his team made a detailed presentation of all the services on offer for broadcasters - from technology to transport and logistics that will be available during the run-up and in the period of the Games.
Representatives of Mediacorp Singapore, beIN Sports Qatar, Astro Malaysia, China Media Group, ABU, Elta, SBS and KBS from Korea were in the audience of broadcasters. Among the Japanese broadcasting companies were Dentsu, Toyota, TBS and Dadore Inc, Fuji Television Network Inc, CBC Television Co. Ltd., NHK Nagoya Station.
