Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to show off facilities and services to world media

Nagoya, Japan, October 6, 2025: International and local media have gathered in Nagoya for the 1st World Broadcasters Meeting and 1st World Press Briefing for the 20th Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games which gets underway on Tuesday, October 7.

 

A hectic four-day schedule awaits broadcasters and media starting with presentations made by the Olympic Council of Asia and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC).

 

This will be followed by detailed looks at the services on offer for broadcasters and the press, everything from technology to transport and logistics that will be available during the run-up and in the period of the Games from September 19-October 4, 2026.

 

“This will be the opportunity for broadcasters and media to get stuck into the nitty-gritty of the facilities on offer, so as to pave the way for a smooth working environment when the Games commences,” said Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Director Media and Broadcast.

 

The first two days – October 7-8 – will be devoted to the broadcasters. A total of 19 different companies from more than 10 countries have registered, among them Mediacorp Singapore. beIN Sports Qatar, Astro Malaysia, China Media Group, SBS from Korea.

 

Among the Japanese broadcasting companies are Dentsu, Toyota, TBS and Dadore Inc, Fuji Television Network Inc, CBC Television Co. Ltd., NHK Nagoya Station.

 

The 1st World Press Briefing will be held on October 9-10 with more than 100 media participating, including a number of news agencies – Reuters, Agence France Presse, Associated Press, Kyodo News, Jiji Press, Xinhua News Agency – and leading Japanese newspapers like the Yomiuri Shimbun, The Mainichi Newspapers, The Sankei Shimbun, and The Chunichi Shimbun.

 

A number of National Olympic Committees have also sent representatives, among them the Chinese Olympic Committee, the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, Singapore National Olympic Council, Jordan Olympic Committee, Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and hosts the Japanese Olympic Committee.

 

National Sports Federations from Japan have also sent delegates, including the Japanese Rugby Football Union, and the Badminton Association of Japan.

 

Venue tours have also been arranged with visits to the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium (venue for athletics), Nagoya City General Gymnastics (gymnastics), Aichi International Arena (basketball and judo). A visit to the cruise ship berthed at Port Messe, Nagoya - home to the athletes during the Games – is also scheduled.
