Manama, Bahrain, October 5, 2025: Bahrain is poised to hold a successful 3rdAsian Youth Games, noted Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain  Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB).

Buhiji affirmed that hosting the AYG – from October 22-31 - reinforces Bahrain’s position as a leading destination for major international sporting events, adding that it was an opportunity to showcase the Kingdom’s standing in sports, its organisational capabilities, and its tourism and cultural offerings.

She noted that hosting the event at Exhibition World Bahrain marks a milestone for the venue as it will be staging the opening ceremony indoors for the first time in the event’s history, and host 14 other sporting competitions.

This was possible thanks to EWB’s state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technologies, and innovative services, which create an ideal environment for athletes and audiences while upholding world-class standards.

Buhiji said that preparations include significant upgrades to Bahrain’s tourism and hospitality infrastructure while highlighting the effective collaboration between the public and private sectors in delivering a successful event.

She added that comprehensive tourism programmes have been organised for the participating delegations in collaboration with the relevant authorities. The programme includes guided tours of Bahrain’s most notable historical, cultural, and entertainment sites, allowing visitors to experience the Kingdom’s distinctive tourism offerings.
