Hong Kong, China, September 29, 2025: The Asian Kickboxing Confederation, in proud collaboration with the Hong Kong Kickboxing Association, successfully hosted the 1st Cross-Strait Cities Kickboxing Invitational Tournament from September 18-22.
The tournament marking a new chapter in regional sports diplomacy and athletic excellence was held in Kowloon City and was exclusively limited to four member regions of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation – Hong Kong China, People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, and Macau China.
A total of 32 athletes competed – 24 men and eight women – across three ring styles. There were also 44 officials – seven national team coaches, 18 referees, and 19 officials.
The tournament was supervised by Nasser Nassiri, President of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation, and Jeong Euncheon, Technical Delegate of the Confederation.
President Nassiri expressed his deep appreciation to Yuen Yuk Kwong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Kickboxing Association, for his outstanding leadership and organisational efforts.
“This tournament would not have been possible without the dedication and vision of Mr. Yuen and his team. I also extend heartfelt appreciation to all the athletes, coaches, and officials whose cooperation and sportsmanship made this event a truly memorable experience,” President Nassiri noted.
The event served as a platform for cultural exchange, mutual respect, and the strengthening of regional ties through martial arts.
“This tournament is more than a sporting event, it’s a celebration of shared heritage, discipline, and the rising influence of Asian Kickboxing on the global stage,” President Nassiri said.
The success of the inaugural Cross-Strait Cities Invitational sets the stage for future collaborations and reinforces Hong Kong’s role as a strategic hub for Asian Kickboxing development.
