Tehran, Iran, September 28, 2025: The Tehran Fun Run, the 11th overseas leg to promote the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, will be conducted on Monday, September 29 in the Iranian capital.
Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, welcomed an OCA delegation led by Jeans Zhou Jian, Director, Media and Broadcasting, at the NOC Headquarters in Tehran on Sunday, September 28.
During the meeting Dr. Alinejad expressed his pleasure at hosting the Fun Run as part of the promotional campaign for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
The Iranian NOC Secretary General emphasised that Iran, as a large country with a strong sporting tradition, fully supported such initiatives and was ready to coordinate with the Asian Games Organising Committee and the OCA in holding this recreational event.
Referring to two major upcoming multi-sports events this year – the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain next month, and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh in November – Dr. Alinejad said Iran’s national delegations at both junior and senior levels were well-prepared to compete.
In response, Jeans Zhou expressed his satisfaction at visiting Tehran in his capacity for the OCA for the third time, and praised the preparations made by the Iranian NOC for the Fun Run.
Jeans Zhou also commended Iran’s achievements in various sports, noting that the country is among global powers in certain disciplines. He conveyed his best wishes for the success of Iranian athletes in the upcoming international competitions.
