48th Session of Chinese Taipei Olympic Academy looks at Olympic Movement and AI

Taipei, Chinese Taipei, September 27, 2025: The grand opening of the 48thSession of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Academy took place on September 18, 2025. It was held under the theme of “Olympic Movement and AI: Opportunities and Challenges’, reflecting the rapid integration of emerging technologies in sport.

 

The ceremony was honoured by Lin Hong Dow, President of the Chinese Taipei NOC; Isidoros Kouvelos, President of the Hellenic NOC; Dr. Charilaos Tsolakis, President of the International Olympic Academy; Dr. Asimakis Asimakopoulos, IOA Director; and Ms. Alexandra Karaiskou, Head of the HOC President’s office and Head of IOA NOAs/NOCs Relations.

 

Under the guidance of former IOA President Isidoros Kouvelos, the IOA and Chinese Taipei NOC built a strong foundation of friendship and cooperation. With new leadership now in place, both sides look forward to further strengthening ties and taking Olympic education to new heights.

 

During the four-day Session, the Chinese NOC and IOA signed MoUs with the Hellenic NOC and the IOA, marking an expansion of partnership and a new milestone within the Olympic Movement.

 

The Session brought together a total of 80 young participants, including eight international students from the Marshall Islands, Palau, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.

 

The final day coincided with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, during which the Chinese Taipei NOC invited participants to spread the spirit of ‘peace and sport’, underscoring the unifying power of sport.

 

This year’s Session reaffirmed the NOC’s leadership in Olympic education and its commitment to fostering future generations of Olympic ambassadors.
