Nagoya, Japan, September 22, 2025: Top sports officials from across Asia will gather in Nagoya, Japan, for the 1st Chefs de Mission Meeting for next year’s 20thAsian Games on Tuesday, September 23.
The highlight of the four-day meeting of Chefs de Mission for the Aichi-Nagoya Games - from September 23-26 - will be the official one-year countdown ceremony held by the Games organisers, AINAGOC, on Tuesday evening.
OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam and Tayyab Ikram, Chair of the OCA Coordination Committee for the 20th Asian Games, will be joined by senior AINAGOC officials during the countdown ceremony, and officially handover invitations to participate at the September 19-October 4, 2025 showpiece.
The one-year countdown festivities will be held at the Chubu Electric Power Mirai Tower in Nagoya.
Following this the Japanese Olympic Committee will host a reception held under the auspices of JOC President Ms. Hashimoto Seiko, and JOC Secretary General Ota Yuki.
A two-day plenary session for the CdM’s will commence on Tuesday morning, September 23, at the Hilton Nagoya Hotel. This will be followed by site visits to different competition venues in Nagoya, Izu and Tokyo on September 25-26.
Around 15,000 athletes and officials from all 45 Asian National Olympic Committees are set to take part in the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
Meanwhile AINAGOC will host a welcome reception for the CdMs on Monday (September 22) evening.
