New Delhi, India, September 18, 2025: The Indian Olympic Association has congratulated the Indian national tennis team for its historic 3-1 victory over Switzerland to secure a spot in the Davis Cup World Qualifiers next year.
“Our first win in Europe against a European nation since 1993. Incredibly proud of the performances put in by our team. Let’s go #TeamIndia,” the IOA posted on social media.
India beat ninth-seeded Switzerland 3-1 in their Davis Cup 2025 World Group 1 tie at the Swiss Tennis Arena in Biel last Saturday, September 13, to make the cut for the 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers either in the last week of January or first week of February.
For India, Dhakshineswar Suresh and Sumit Nagal won their opening singles matches. Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Bollipali lost the doubles, before Nagal clinched the tie winning the first reverse singles.
