Amman, Jordan, September 13, 2025: HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, got into the swing of things as he participated in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Fun Run in Amman on Saturday, September 13.
Prince Faisal probably walks more during his morning exercise, but in a show of solidarity for the Aichi-Nagoya Games, the JOC President walked two full laps – 800 metres – around the pitch at the Amman International Stadium, the country’s premier footballing venue.
The JOC President who is also an IOC Member was accompanied by Japanese Ambassador to Jordan, HE Asari Hideki, the Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Adwan, JOC Secretary General Rana Al Saeed, OCA Director of Media and Broadcasting Jeans Zhou Jian, Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee’s (AINAGOC) Director of Sports Planning Hiroshi Sakai, and other dignitaries.
“I’m very happy to support the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games,” Prince Faisal told the Japanese Ambassador on arriving at the stadium.
The Jordan Olympic Committee had thrown its full weight behind the OCA’s ‘Asian Games for All’ promotional campaign held in conjunction with AINAGOC. All three aspects of the campaign – the Fun Run, an art competition for children, and an Asian Youth Reporter project – were featured over the last two days.
Jordan was the ninth stopover in Asia of this promotional campaign for the September 19 to October 4 showpiece in Japan next year.
Just over 100 children, some of them the sons and daughters of the Jordan Olympic Committee officials, greeted Prince Faisal and his entourage into the stadium with hearty cheering.
They then ran a one kilometre distance, at the end of which, every participant was awarded a medal, personally handed over by Prince Faisal.
“This is just crazy and fun to do,” said 12-year-old Yusuf Al Hussam, who had arrived with his basketball teammates for the event.
Ilyas Tamari, 9, who practices taekwondo, added: “It felt good to be here. Hopefully, one day I will represent Jordan in taekwondo and be on centre-stage again.”
