Amman, Jordan, September 12, 2025: The OCA’s ‘Asian Games for All’ initiative will touch unprecedented heights thanks to the Jordan Olympic Committee allowing children with Down’s syndrome to take part in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games promotional art competition.
Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al Saeed, revealed that 11 children with Down’s syndrome participated in the ‘Asian Games for All’ art and drawing competition which draws to a conclusion on Saturday, September 13, alongside the Fun Run.
The top four exhibits – two boys and two girls - will be on display at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games during the September 19 to October 4, 2026, showpiece.
“We are the first country in Asia to allow children with Down’s syndrome to participate in the Asian Games art competition. We began this competition two weeks ago and there were 166 participants, among them 11 children with Down syndrome,” JOC Secretary General Al Saeed pointed out.
The OCA’s ‘Asian Games for All’ three-pronged initiative – a community-driven Fun Run, a children’s art competition and an Asian Youth Reporter project – is mainly a promotional tool for next year’s Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
In Jordan for the ninth leg of this promotion, the OCA has received tremendous support from the local NOC which has put on all three segments.
“We have worked closely with the OCA for a long time and it was quite natural that we put on all three aspects of the ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign,” Al Saeed said.
OCA Director of Media and Broadcasting Jeans Zhou Jian applauded the Jordan NOC’s support for the promotion of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, especially the move for inclusivity.
“The OCA is deeply appreciative of the decision by the Jordan Olympic Committee to include children with Down’s syndrome in the art competition. This embodies the true purpose of the ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign which is not so much about competition, but about embracing everyone,” Jeans Zhou said.
