Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games organisers promise unique experience for athletes next year

Astana, Kazakhstan, September 2, 2025: An ancient culture, modern technology and Japan’s reputation of delivering exceptional Games will all combine to make the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games a unique experience promised organisers on Tuesday, September 2.

 

The promotional Asian Games Fun Run campaign by the OCA and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee will be held in Astana on Wednesday, and at the Press Conference to announce details, AINAGOC heralded next year’s showpiece as one to remember.

 

“Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya city located at the centre of Japan have centuries-old history. Nagoya is a regional cultural centre and is also the headquarters of Toyota and the heart of many state-of-the-art technologies,” revealed Nakamori Yasuhiro, AINAGOC Acting Director General.

 

“In addition, Japan has hosted two Olympic Games, two Olympic Winter Games, and two Asian Games, the last one in Hiroshima in 1994 which was special symbolising peace. All these factors will contribute and help us to offer good hospitality and a rich experience to all participants,” Yasuhiro added.

 

The 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya will be held from September 19-October 4, 2026.

 

OCA Deputy Director General Vinod Kumar Tiwari, who also attended the press conference, highlighted the Fun Run which is part of the OCA’s Asian Games for All campaign.

 

“The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Fun Run will be the seventh international stop to celebrate the 2026 games. The OCA has organised Fun Runs in Bhutan, Tajikistan, Brunei, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Lebanon,” Tiwari pointed out. 

 

“Later in September, we will also hold similar celebrations in Sri Lanka, Jordan and Maldives. We are hopeful the Asian Games for All campaign will reach no less than 30 National Olympic Committees before next year’s games starts,” Tiwari added.

 

Kazakhstan NOC Director General Nurlan Nogerbek, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ruslan Yessenalin, were also present at the press conference, and highlighted Kazakhstan’s preparations for Aichi-Nagoya.
