OCA and Olympic Solidarity pay a courtesy call on Kazakhstan NOC

Astana, Kazakhstan, September 2, 2025: Senior officials from the Olympic Council of Asia and the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity paid a courtesy call to the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan on Monday, September 1, the eve of the 6thOCA/OS Athletes Forum.

 

The OCA team which visited the Kazakhstan NOC’s new headquarters in Astana included Deputy Director General Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Director NOC Relations & Development Programmes Wissam Trkmani, and Director Media & Broadcast Jeans Zhou Jian.

 

The OS team comprised Associate Director Olivier Niamkey and Continental Manager Edward Kensington.

 

On hand to receive the visitors were Kazakhstan NOC Director General Nurlan Nogerbek, Director of the International Relations Department Anara Syzdykova, and Director of the Sports Department Bektur Kiyatbay.

 

Welcoming the visitors, Director General Nogerbek said: “We are glad that you are here. I hope that you will enjoy your stay in Astana. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or my team. During the next two days, we have prepared cultural sightseeing tours for all participants and hope all of you enjoy it.”

 

On behalf of both the OS and OCA, Olivier Niamkey thanked the Kazakhstan NOC for hosting the 6th OCA/OS Athletes Forum.

 

Niamkey said: “For Olympic Solidarity, it is very important to have a host for our events. Our activities happen all around the world, and the OCA always finds a very good host, so thanks to the good relations with the NOC Kazakhstan, we are very pleased that we could have the forum here.

 

“On behalf of our Director James MacLeod and all of OS, we would also like to thank the OCA for putting everything together. We trust the Forum will be a success.”

 

Around 120 delegates from 42 Asian National Olympic Committees, the IOC, various sporting organisations, and other stakeholders will participate in the 6thOCA/OS Athletes Forum on September 2-3.
