Kazakhstan NOC ensures judo Olympian Timur Bolat gets Olympic Solidarity grant

Astana, Kazakhstan, August 28, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan has facilitated an educational grant for Timur Bolat, Secretary General of Judo Federation.

 

Within the framework of the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity programme, the Kazakhstan NOC has enabled a grant for Bolat, who competed in judo at the 2012 London Olympics, and who is currently the Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Judo Federation.

 

The grant covers full enrollment in the Executive MBA programme at the Academy of Physical Education and Mass Sports, starting in September, 2025. The course is designed to train highly qualified managers in sports administration.

 

“Supporting athletes after their competitive careers is essential. We are confident that the knowledge and skills acquired through such educational programmes will help our Olympians realise their potential in new roles and continue contributing to sports development,” noted Kazakhstan NOC Secretary General Alimzhan Akayev.

 

During the course Bolat will study key aspects of sports organisation management, strategic planning, finance, marketing, and sports law.

 

Expressing his gratitude to the NOC, Bolat said: “Receiving my Olympic Solidarity grant opens new avenues for my professional growth. I am confident that the knowledge gained during the programme will enhance the work of the Judo Federation and contribute to the development of sports management in Kazakhstan.”
