Malaysia NOC Secretary General officiates at opening ceremony of Asian Tenpin tournament

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 23, 2025: The Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Mohammed Nasir Ali, officiated at the opening ceremony of the 22nd Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships, in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on Thursday, August 21.

 

This year’s Championships have drawn 88 participants – 56 males, 32 females – from 14 nations: Bahrain, Hong Kong China, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau China, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and host nation Malaysia.

 

The OCM Secretary General in his opening remarks, said: “I believe that many of you will not only rise as future Asian champions, but also as World champions. Although Tenpin Bowling is not yet part of the Olympic programme, your dedication and commitment to this sport reflect the very essence of the Olympic Spirit.”

 

Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah, President of the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress expressed heartfelt gratitude to HE Sheikh Talal Mohammed Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Bowling Federation, for the trust placed in the MTBC to once again host this prestigious event.

 

“Malaysia is honoured to have been entrusted by the ABF to host this event for the fourth time, having previously hosted it in 1996, 2009 and 2015,” Mohammed Abdullah said.

 

The tournament is being held at the Sunway Mega Lanes, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya from August 21-27.
