Team Sri Lanka for Bahrain AYG attends workshop on anti-doping, safeguarding and PMC

Colombo, Sri Lanka, August 20, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency and the Ministry of Sports, conducted an anti-doping and safeguarding workshop last Friday, August 15.

 

The workshop was held as preparation for Team Sri Lanka which will participate at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain from October 22-31.

 

Chamath Srinika, Assistant Director of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency delivered an in-depth presentation to the athletes, stressing on the importance of integrity in sport and strict compliance with international regulations.

 

The safeguarding segment was jointly presented by Ms. Niloo Jayatileka, Vice President of NOCSL and Chairperson of its Gender Equity Committee, along with Sivarajah Gobinath and Ms. Hiruni Munasinghe, IOC Certified Safeguarding Officers.

 

They outlined key measures to ensure the welfare and protection of the athletes. Mr. Sivarajah also led a session on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competition (PMC), where he emphasised the importance of integrity in sports.

 

The workshop was attended by President of Sri Lanka NOC Suresh Subramaniam, Secretary General Rifdy Fahmy, Chef de Mission of Team Sri Lanka Rear Admiral Manula Dissanayake, and other senior officials.
