Harbin, China, August 10, 2025: Sherzod Asatullaev, Vice President of Children of Asia International Committee, said the inaugural collaboration between the OCA and the CAIC was the first step in the journey towards Olympic dreams for the young figure skaters from across the continent.

The senior CAIC official addressing the young athletes during the opening ceremony of the OCA-ISU-CAIC Asian Figure Skating Youth Camp, stated: “We are proud to unite our efforts to create an environment where you can grow, develop, and begin your journey toward Olympic dreams.”

Asatullaev urged the athletes to give maximum commitment, saying: “Believe in yourselves, listen to your coaches, and remember every step you take on ice brings you closer to your goals.”

A total of 47 athletes – 19 boys and 28 girls – from 20 Asian countries and regions are taking part in the August 10-18 figure skating development camp in Harbin.

With the majority of them aged between 14 and 16 years, this residential camp is the first major international experience for them, and indeed the baby steps in the journey to the Olympics.

“May this camp gift you with unforgettable emotions, valuable knowledge, and ever-lasting inspiration. I wish all participants brilliant performances, true joy in every glide on the ice, and steady growth on your sporting journey,” he added.
