Astana, Kazakhstan, August 6, 2025: Gennadiy Golovkin, Kazakhstan NOC President and Chair of the World Boxing Olympic Committee, held a meeting with Refract Technologies Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based company specialising in immersive technology and artificial intelligence solutions.

During the meeting, Refract Technologies presented its flagship innovation – AXIS, a full-body motion capture system designed for virtual environments. Already in use in international virtual sports competitions such as taekwondo, the technology was demonstrated through simulated matches in both virtual taekwondo and boxing.

The company expressed interest in collaborating with World Boxing on a pilot project aimed at developing virtual boxing, including test matches. The key tactical advantages of the system were explained to the Kazakhstan NOC President.

Notably, the AXIS system provides full-body representation in virtual space, with precise motion tracking that enables realistic perception of distance and interaction with opponents. These features contribute to a safe and engaging sporting experience, particularly appealing to youth and newcomers.

Refract Technologies is also exploring the inclusion of virtual boxing as a potential discipline for the Olympic Esports Games in Saudi Arabia, as well as opportunities for national-level implementation.

Following the meeting, both parties expressed a shared commitment to leverage innovative technologies for the advancement and promotion of sport.
