Dhaka, Bangladesh, August 4, 2025: The election of the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Olympic Association for a new four-year term will take place in November 2025.
This decision was made at the 5th General Assembly Meeting of the Bangladesh Olympic Association last Thursday, July 30, which was chaired by BOA President and Chief of Army Staff, General Waker-Uz-Zaman.
As one of the country’s leading sports organisations, the BOA Executive Committee serves a four-year term. The last BOA Exco election took place in December 2021.
At the meeting, BOA President General Waker-Uz-Zaman revealed that a joint initiative between the BOA and the Bangladesh Army has been taken to build the Bangladesh Olympic Complex in Trishal, in the Mymensingh District.
Around 173 acres of land under the control of the army has been identified for this project. The BOA President called on sponsors to come forward to help implement the project and sought cooperation from all stakeholders.
