Nansha, China, July 31, 2025: The 2025 Olympism Camp, jointly organized for the first time by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, kicked off on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in Nansha, Guangzhou.
A total of 110 secondary school students and young athletes from Hong Kong, Macao and Nansha will take part in a three-day programme to explore the core values of Olympism.
The 2025 Olympism Camp is co-organized by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macao, China, the Guangdong Provincial Sports Federation and the Federation of Macau-China Sports General Associations, with funding support from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Olympic Solidarity.
In his welcoming remarks, SF&OC President Timothy Fok said: “This year’s camp marks a significant milestone as we bring the programme from Hong Kong to Nansha.
“It reflects SF&OC’s continuous commitment to fostering sports and cultural exchanges across the Greater Bay Area. This regional collaboration not only provides young people an opportunity to broaden their horizons but it also promotes dialogue in sports, culture and values, encouraging integration and cooperation among youths in the region.”
Inaugurated in 2013, the Olympism Camp is one of the key initiatives organized by SF&OC to promote the values of Olympism.
The three-day 2025 Olympism Camp will offer a wide range of activities, including a flag football experience session, team building exercises, a social media short video editing workshop, a mascot design workshop for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and guided visits to local cultural and sports venues.
At the opening ceremony, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China also signed two Memorandums of Understanding. The first was with the Chinese Olympic Academy and the second with the Guangdong Provincial Sports Federation and the Federation of Macau-China Sports General Associations to strengthen sports exchange and cooperation.
