OCA EB member dedicates musical tribute to front line workers in Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand, April 14, 2020: Olympic Council of Asia Executive Board member Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul of Thailand has produced a special video presentation to support the front liners in the fight against COVID-19.

Mrs Leeswadtrakul, who is also an IOC Member and Deputy President of the Badminton World Federation, has made the gesture in her role as Chairperson of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and Executive Producer.

“The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, together with applicants of the Side by Side with the Thailand Phil Project, perform the well-loved Thai song “Samakkhi Chumnum” - with each member playing his or her part from their home - so as to show their support and to offer their deepest gratitude to the doctors, medical staff and officials from all sectors who have been fighting the Covid-19 pandemic on the front lines,” she says.

“The Thai song “Samakkhi Chumnum” is set to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne” and focuses on love and solidarity; it emphasizes that with our united forces all goals can be achieved.”

Mrs Leeswadtrakul urges everyone to stay home, stay strong and stay safe in these difficult times.

At home in Thailand, the Chair of the OCA Culture Committee is a member of the Executive Board of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King and President of the Badminton Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King.
