Singapore, July 29, 2025: Singapore Aquatics has congratulated Olympic swimming champion Joseph Schooling on being inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Schooling made history by winning Singapore’s first gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, in the men’s 100m butterfly. This achievement earned him a place in the hall of fame at an induction ceremony attended by World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam among other dignitaries.
Singapore Aquatics posted: “A historic first — the International Swimming Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held for the first time outside of Florida, right here in Singapore during the World Aquatics Championships Singapore 2025 and in celebration of SG60 (Building Our Singapore Together initiative).
“What made it even more special? Witnessing our very own Joseph Schooling being inducted into this prestigious Hall of Fame — on home ground, surrounded by the community that watched him grow, rise and make history.”
Singapore Aquatics added that, in his heartfelt speech, Joseph quoted his late father as saying: “Enjoy the present, enjoy the moment and enjoy the win — because you never know when you will win again. But the people who supported you day in, day out — these are family.”
The post concluded: “Congratulations, Joseph. You’ve made all of us proud, once again.”
