Phnom Penh, Cambodia, July 23, 2025: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, His Excellency Minister Dr. Thong Khon, welcomed a delegation from the sport of woodball on Tuesday, July 22.
The woodball delegation was led by the President of the International Woodball Federation (IWbF), Sean Chi-Hsiang Weng.
The two parties discussed ways in which they could collaborate in the development and promotion of woodball, which was invented as a recreational sport in 1990 by Mr. Ming-Hui Weng in Taipei City.
The IWbF has a total of 45 member countries and regions affiliated to their National Olympic Committees, with six in the Southeast Asia region: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Woodball has been officially recognized by the OCA since 1999 and has been presented at the Asian Beach Games in Bali 2008, Muscat 2010, Haiyang 2012, Phuket 2014 and Danang 2016.
Woodball has been included in the SEA Games for the first time at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this December.
