Baghdad, Iraq, July 23, 2025: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, Dr. Aqeel Muften, attended the opening and closing ceremonies of a three-day development course for coaches and judges of the Iraqi Cycling Federation in Baghdad.
The Iraq NOC President stressed the importance of conducting such courses resulting in the improvement of technical skills of officials, and said the NOC was fully supportive of training programmes like this organised by national sports federations.
The three-day course, from July 20-22, was conducted by Iranian lecturer Hamid Mohammed Hussein and included various aspects on the laws of cycling with sessions aimed at bringing all participants up-to-date with the latest international standards.
Dr. Ali Hamid, President of the Iraqi Cycling Federation, explained that this course was part of the federation’s plan to boost the technical skills of coaches and judges in the sport.
Dr. Hamid also expressed his appreciation of the support received from the Iraq NOC.
At the end of the course, all participants received certificates from Dr. Muften.
